Competitive Artistic Gymnastics

Entry into our competitive teams is by selection only.
Gymnasts are continually being assessed by our instructors, evaluating suitable gymnasts to enter our CT programs. Our CT programs follow the Australian levels program, with gymnasts being able to compete from levels 1 to 10. Gymnasts in our CT programs are expected to compete in competitions designated by the program Team Lead. Gymnasts will continue working on core strength suitable for their age as well as flexibility, which will involve stretching.

Competitive Tumbling

Competitive Tumbling

Age Group: 6+ Years Old

Tumbling, also referred to as power tumbling is a discipline of trampoline gymnastics in which athletes perform a series of acrobatic skills along a 25m strip or sprung floor or a 25m air track.  Each series, or pass, comprise 8 elements or skills in which the athlete jumps, twists, or flips placing both hands and feet on the track.  Competitive tumblers are judged on the difficult of the passes they perform and the execution of individual elements within the series, as well as the execution of the pass as a whole.
Tumbling (gymnastics) provides a range of benefits to health, behaviour, and social skills.  Regular participation in gymnastics training can dramatically improve complex motor skills, flexibility, coordination, balance, and strength.  Gymnasts tend to develop a high self-esteem and increased confidence as well as developing perseverance and discipline through performance and training consistency.  Competitive tumbling is a challenging and exciting new programme at Gold Coast Gymnastics.
