We are delighted to extend our professional HealthHub Services to our members with a healthcare partnership with Restorativ Physiotherapy. Rob Marshall, Founder and Clinical Director will be joining the GCGC team on a weekly basis at Coomera to aid and support the wellbeing of our gymnasts.
Rob Marshall
Rob Marshall has over 20 years’ experience working in professional sports and private practice across Australia, New Zealand and UK, Rob started up his own Physiotherapy Clinic in Pimpama in 2023. Throughout his Sports career, he successfully rehabilitated high profile athletes and has a deep understanding of high-performance treatment principles and demands.
Rob started his career in private practice in NZ and then relocated to the UK in 2006, to follow a career in professional Soccer. He was Head of Medical Services at Scottish Premier League Club, Heart of Midlothian, then Head of Academy Sport Science and Medicine at English Premier League Club, Aston Villa and was promoted to the role of First Team Senior Physiotherapist. Seeking a lifestyle change, in 2022 he returned with his family to the Southern hemisphere, taking the role of Head Physiotherapist at AFL side, Brisbane Lions. Rob is married to Jess, who works as Practice Manager in the Clinic, and they have three children – Matthew, Mimi and Lucy (and an adorable little puppy called Chloe who can already do back flips!). Welcome Rob and we look forward to a long-lasting partnership.

We are excited to continue our partnership with one of Gold Coast’s most experienced Sports Physiotherapists Erin Fitzgerald from Art Physio. Erin has 20 years of industry experience as a Masters qualified Sports Physio. She has worked on several different Cirque du Soleil shows as well as treating Olympians, Red Bull cliff divers, Nitro Circus & other professional athletes. Erin has worked with gymnasts in various local, State and National competitions as well as treating out of the Gymnastics Queensland High Performance Centre in 2007. In 2018 she founded Art Physio, a bespoke Sports Medicine Practice.
Erin Fitzgerald, Master of Sports Physiotherapy
Erin has a passion for injury prevention and Erin will work closely with our coaches on this. Erin will attend our Miami facility weekly, where she will spend time with the coaches to analyse training and identify activities or techniques which may lead to injury. Erin will also have the opportunity to complete an initial assessment of gymnasts and refer them to her clinic for a full assessment and treatment if required. One of the greatest benefits of Erin being onsite in the gym is that she can discuss with the coaches training modifications required during recovery time and rehab plans and exercises.

Nikki Barr, BNutr & Diet (HONS), APD
Nikki Barr brings over 19 years of active engagement in the Australian gymnastics’ community to her role as a nutrition specialist. She has served as a Chaperone for Men’s Artistic Gymnasts at local, national, and international levels, including the Australian Levels Tour – Junior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team to Texas, USA, in 2020. As the mother of a competitive MAG gymnast, Nikki combines her deep connection to the sport with a passion for evidence-based nutrition and research. Her extensive experience in gymnastics has given her a unique insight into the physical and mental demands of the sport, allowing her to provide tailored nutritional strategies to support gymnasts in fuelling performance, enhancing recovery, and achieving long-term health and success.
Stephanie Young, BNutr & Diet, APD
Stephanie Young is a dedicated dietitian with 17 years of hands-on experience in gymnastics as a former gymnast and coach with a deep personal understanding of the nutritional needs of gymnasts. Currently undertaking her Sports Dietitian credentials, Steph as she is known by many uses her first-hand experience in competitive gymnastics to help athletes optimise their performance and recovery. Steph specialises in sports nutrition, injury prevention, and the prevention and management of eating disorders. She is passionate about empowering gymnasts to make sustainable, positive nutrition changes to support their physical and mental well-being.
