Our new recreation programs are designed first and foremost to be fun promoting our philosophy of Fun, Fitness, Fundamentals and Friendship. These classes run for 60 plus minutes and gymnasts will progress through our Pre-Levels program at their own pace, learning with the focus on developing physical gymnastics abilities and confidence.
As your child progresses through the curriculum, they will move from one Pre-Level to the next through a series of TID (talent identification days) approximately every 4 weeks of term. During class, gymnasts will participate on all the Olympic style gymnastics apparatus including our 15 metre tumble trak, foam pits, ropes, pit trampolines, bars over the foam pit and plenty of specialised recreational gymnastics equipment.
Gymnastics is a great foundation for all sports and the basic athletic skills learned are transferable should they wish to try something else at a later stage. Our programs teach fundamental movement patterns whilst giving children a love of gymnastics. Activities learned include tumbling, swinging, rolling, jumping and landing as well as developing body awareness, coordination, enhanced flexibility and strength.
Boys and Girls are in separate classes with a ratio of 8 gymnasts to one accredited coach.
How a gymnast graduates – Approximately every 4 weeks of term we will be running special TID (talent identification days) at each venue where each member will perform the specific routines they have learned for their pre-level. These routines will be evaluated by our expert team of coaches on each apparatus, each attendee will receive a certificate with Gold, Silver or Bronze stickers to indicate their evaluation on each apparatus with an overall award sticker indicating if they have passed and are ready to move up into the next pre-level. These TID events are not compulsory and members are not required to attend every event, only if and when members feel ready to progress.
